Purebred French sheep are bred in Gorodok District. A tribal center was established in the village of Stodolishche. Ile-de-France breeds were purchased from Hungary. Livestock includes 450 sheep. The goal is breeding in order to provide the region with pedigree young animals and earn money by selling animals abroad. The Ile-de-France breed is in great demand. The average weight of rams is 110 kilograms, sheep - up to 90 kg. Among the advantages are fast growth, adaptation to seasonal fluctuations of nature, moderate fat content.
There is a set of measures for the development of sheep breeding until 2025 in Belarus, the goal is more full employment of the rural population and an increase in the competitiveness of domestic agricultural products.
