Belarus plans to increase oil production up to 2 million tons a year

Our oil workers are planning to produce up to 2 million tons of black gold annually. This was reported by Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Andrei Khudyk. Today about one million 750 thousand tons is extracted annually. There are about a hundred fields discovered in the country.  According to experts, commercial reserves of black gold in the Belarusian subsoil are up to 51 million tons.

Andrei Khudyk, Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus: "We have to increase these reserves in order to discover more fields and increase the reserves. That is why we discussed modernization and expansion of oil prospecting geography. I am sure that a road map will be prepared and will help us expand the geography and find new oil deposits."

Radiation background is normal

The head of environmental agency dwelt separately on the radiation monitoring of the environment. Andrei Hudyk stressed that since the launch of the BelNPP no deterioration of the radiation situation in our country has been registered.
