Preparations for WorldSkills 2017 have already begun throughout Belarus. The competition will be held in October this year. The best craftsmen fr om all over the world will meet in Abu Dhabi. A team of professionals from all regions of our country will take part there as well.
Participants call the competition Skills Olympics. The only difference is that they are held every 2 years. In 2017, the best masters from 76 countries will compete for gold medals. In particular, Belarus will be represented by 30 people with 28 competencies.
According to Vadim Bogush, first deputy minister of education of Belarus, our team showed high results in all 15 competencies wh ere it competed in 2015. All participants coped well with their tasks and President of WorldSkills Simon Bartley noted it as one of the best debuts in the competition.
The first WorldSkills Championship took place after the end of the Second World War, in order to attract people to the labour profession. Today, despite the development of technology, manual labor remains in the trend.
