Belarus preparing new rules for keeping homeless cats and dogs

This was reported to our TV channel by the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services. Sterilization of animals, their mandatory chipping and creation of a single database. The document is being developed jointly with other departments and animal protection organizations. The document is supposed to increase the responsibility of people for their pets: mandatory identification of the animal, increasing the tax on owners of unsterilized dogs. It is supposed to abolish the extreme measure – mercy killing of a neglected animal.

The draft document stipulates that taxes on animals, as well as fines for violating the rules for keeping pets, will be sent exclusively for creating infrastructure for the animals. The final document will be presented in a few months.
