2 октября 2022
Words of gratitude are heard today for Belarusian teachers. Traditionally, on the first Sunday in October, our country celebrates Teacher's Day. The President has congratulated the teachers on their professional holiday.

“Through continuity and dedication, love for children and loyalty to the native land, you are paving the future of Belarus, which is based on the achievements of your pupils. I am confident that together with you we will augment the best of the national education system, and the proud title of teacher, beating your talents, pedagogical wisdom and professional experience, will always enjoy the highest authority, profound respect and great love of millions of Belarusian children and their parents”, the letter of greetings runs.

Today, there are some 430,000 specialists in education, and half of them are teachers. More than 82% of school teachers are women. Most often they teach languages and literature, chemistry and biology. Men teach physics, physical education, history and other social subjects. There are on average 10 students per teacher.

Belarus ranks 32nd by the index of the level of education and is among the countries with a very high index of human development. And this is also the merit of our teachers.
