The UN Charter is now also available in Belarusian!  This is the first Belarusian-language edition of the fundamental UN document in the history of our sovereign state!  The presentation of the UN Charter took place today in Minsk at an event dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the document's signing.  The ceremony (organized by the Foreign Ministry) was attended by the UN Resident Coordinator in Belarus, ambassadors, and other representatives of foreign diplomatic missions and the United Nations.

Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus: "In my opinion, the Belarusian side has put forward many initiatives. Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic has slightly suspended the work on these initiatives.  But it is important for us to continue working on these initiatives - this is human trafficking, and the digital neighborhood belt, this is our proposal for the non-location and non-production of medium- and short-range missiles and many, many others.  I think that one of the new problems that will be on our agenda is medical safety".

One of the copies of the Belarusian-language UN Charter was solemnly handed over by Vladimir Makei and the UN Resident Coordinator in Belarus to the Director of the National Library.  The Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed that this edition of the UN Charter will help ensure the continuity of generations and historical memory of Belarus' contribution to the establishment of international peace.
