One of the topics discussed was the progress of the spring field work in Belarus and Chechersk District. The President demanded from the responsible officials to deal more seriously with the issues of import substitution of the elite varieties of seeds and step up land reclamation.
Now Belarus is implementing its sixth state program to mitigate the aftermath of the Chernobyl disaster. It envisages the allocation of almost 3 billion rubles, benefits, compensation, free meals for schoolchildren, health resort treatment. Gasification is being developed, deferrization plants and artesian wells are being put into operation. More than 19 billion dollars was spent on the implementation of the previous five programs of state support.
