The military held practical exercises on Sakhalin as part of the "Vostok-22" maneuvers. The legend says that enemy sabotage groups have entered the island, and the task of Russian troops and their allies is to destroy the landing troops. To do this, it is necessary to conduct a diversionary maneuver to determine the exact location of the enemy. The area is surrounded by mountains and hills, where it is easy to get lost. To prevent the enemy from breaking through, the Russian military deployed an anti-aircraft missile system.
Exercise "Vostok-22" will continue until September 7 at seven Russian ranges, as well as in the waters of the Sea of Okhotsk and the Sea of Japan. In total, more than 50,000 servicemen from 14 countries, including Belarus, are involved.
