By Yulia Tokar: Orthodox Christians are in anticipation of one of major Christian holidays, preparing for it through fasting and sincere prayer. According to tradition, believers abstain from food before the appearance of the first star in the sky and attend evening liturgies.
Meanwhile, young people are getting ready for a traditional Orthodox ball. The aristocratic event, scheduled for late January, will gather over 500 talented young men and women. Its programme consists of over 40 performances, including Armenian, Belarusian and classic ballroom dancing. The best dance routines are traditionally repeated from year to year.
