Jubilee, sixtieth meeting held at junction of borders of Belarus, Russia and Latvia

8 июля 2019

By tradition, veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the heirs of the Victory gathered at the Mound of Friendship. It was erected in memory of the joint struggle with the enemy. The ground for the mound was brought from the mass graves, as well as the places of death of those who gave their lives for the Victory. Three granite slabs were installed on the slopes of the Mound of Friendship: in Belarusian, Russian and Latvian. For more than half a century on the first Sunday of July, the territory of the memorial is crowded. And in more than half a century, the tradition is supported by youth.
