This has been announced today by Deputy Minister of Sports and Tourism Czeslaw Shulga. According to him, more than 1,000 tourist guides have already received linguistic certificates. Special tourist informational posters in English will appear in Minsk hotels. However, menus in cafes and restaurants will not be fully translated into English - names of national dishes will be rendered in the Latin alphabet.
Besides, representatives of the Ministry of Culture have announced the official opening date of the new Great Patriotic War Museum. It will receive its first visitors right before Independence Day - on July 2. The event will be dedicated to the 70th Anniversary of Belarus' liberation from Nazi invaders.
