NATO countries are emptying their stockpiles of military arsenals faster than planned. And in the near future the United States will not be able to supply weapons to Ukraine. Andrei Starikov, a political scientist and the head of the Baltnews news agency, shared this opinion. According to him, it is not possible to produce weapons as fast as they are consumed.
Andrei Starikov, political analyst, head of the news agency Baltnews:
Their capacity is not enough in the economic realities of the West today. They don't have an ability to scale the production of the same missiles and so on. Because all of this is again energy-intensive production, again, it needs electricity, metals, steel, nonferrous metals. And that is a market where there has always been a high economy of the West from Russian supplies. It's the overall appreciation of all raw materials. We say, the usual energy and all kinds of metals have become more expensive, and other components for weapons, from microchips to the charges themselves. Weapons are not endless, weapons are running out. There are not enough defense plants to stamp out these weapons as fast as they are consumed. The Western reserves have reached their critical levels.
