Starikov: No visa and possibility of shopping in Belarus is the only way to get by for Baltic population

Despite the active policy of intimidation and pressure of the Baltic authorities, the Belarusian direction is very popular among the inhabitants of Lithuania and Latvia.

This was stated by a famous political analyst, head of the news agency Baltnews Andrei Starikov to the channel Belarus 1. According to the expert, visa-free regime and the ability to buy products in Belarus is the only way for a favorable existence of the Baltic population, seriously suffering from the short-sighted sanctions policy of their leadership.

Andrei Starikov, political analyst, head of the news agency Baltnews:

“Many people take advantage of the visa-free window and go to Belarus at least to take a look at a normal country, where there is no need to be afraid, where there is no pressure from all sides, where this atmosphere of hatred for everything different is not in the air, where people are not insulted and forced to repent for being Russians or Belarusians. Therefore, this is a good direction to exhale and calm down. Such an area for psychotherapy for our poor and cornered Baltic friends. As for the economic dimension, of course, the Belarusian market is a market where you can buy cheaper, where you can buy what you have to look for in the Baltics. Therefore, for certain types of goods, of course, the Baltic States take advantage of this opportunity and go to Belarus. It concerns not only foodstuffs (sugar, flour), they buy such things that are stored for a long time, as a reserve, because they are worried and there are reasons for that.”
