The organization plans to create an entire network of service centers and joint ventures. This issue has been discussed today at the 12th meeting of CSTO member states in Minsk. The proposals formed the basis of the Memorandum of Understanding on Military Technical Cooperation. The document is still subject to domestic approval, but it may be introduced at the next meeting of the committee.
Today's meeting also considered standardization and classification. An updated register of CSTO enterprises has already been created.
Valery Semerikov, CSTO Deputy Secretary General: These enterprises will be prepared for a closer cooperation on joint production, modernization or maintenance. This issue will be considered in detail, with concrete proposals to be made at the next meeting.
The next CSTO meeting will be held in Dushanbe presumably in the second half of 2015. In addition to discussing the details of today's agreements, the focus will be on the issues of import substitution, as well as unification of military industry standards.
