Money can be withdrawn through store's checkout, according to National Bank and government desicion

The Belarusians will be able to withdraw cash from the card through the store's cash register. The corresponding decision of the government and the National Bank came into force. However, this applies only to rural areas, small urban settlements, and areas outside localities. This service will be available in cities from January 1, 2022.

Tatyana Rruskevich, head of the main Department of the Payment System and Digital Technologies of the National Bank of Belarus: "Cash withdrawal in the organization of trade and service to holders of bank cards will be carried out using cash register equipment, provided that there is a sufficient amount of money on the card, as well as in the cash register of the organization of the trade and service."

This measure should reduce the load on the banking sector. One can withdraw no more than 5 basic units or 135 rubles at a time.
