Cooperation within the OSCE, uniting countries to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, developing mutual integration and other issues were discussed by the MFAheads of the CIS countries.

Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus: "As for the ratification of the agreement on mutual recognition of visas with Russia, the President signed the corresponding decree. We hope that after the adoption of a similar decision by the Russian side, an exchange of corresponding letters will take place and within 30 days, the agreement will enter into force".

The West, in turn, continues to talk to us in the language of sanctions. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of our country commented on the recent meeting with the ambassadors of the EU countries accredited in Belarus.

V. Makei: Sanctions have never led to solving problems

Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus: "Sanctions have never led and will not lead to any positive changes or to the solution of certain problems. We also clearly told our partners about this. We will find an adequate answer to the sanctions that will be taken by our partners. We drew attention to the fact that, of course, these sanctions will lead to a certain deterioration in the situation of ordinary people in Belarus. But, in any case, in its recent history Belarus has proved that it will cope and will find a way out of this situation. An attempt to continuesanctions will definitely lead to geopolitical changes in the region. I don’t think it will benefit the European Union".
