The readiness of our healthcare system to counter the second wave of coronavirus was discussed today at the Palace of Independence.
Among the invitees is the country's medical pool: acting Minister, Chief Sanitary Doctor, specialized universities, Belmedpreparaty. Coronavirus has become the number one problem for the entire planet. The state coped with the first wave of coronavirus successfully, now the second wave has begun. Some countries are again approaching spring peak levels. The situation with the spread of COVID-19 in our country is under the personal control of the President. The tactics we have chosen in due time has fully justified itself, and we will continue to adhere to it. In addition, more and more countries in the world are choosing to follow similar measures.
The President clearly outlined his position - there is no point in closing the country. One needs to be prepared for the growth of positive tests, but should not overload the healthcare system. Special attention is paid to the issues of the provision of medicines and protective equipment, as well as personnel. It is important to support doctors financially. Despite the tight budgetary restrictions, more than 300 million rubles has already been paid to doctors working with patients with COVID-19.
Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus: "People who work and fight infectious diseases need money. People take risks, and doctors should not be offended here in any way. But there should be no excesses."
The President drew attention to the fact that the situation with the spread of the virus is largely in our powers. Flu vaccination, social distance, walks in the fresh air are recommendations of Belarusian doctors. Our doctors are coping with the situation. More than 400 cases of COVID-19 are registered per day, there were twice as many at the peak times.
