War crimes have no statute of limitations. Belarus intends to raise the issue of the liability of the SS before some countries, the Prosecutor General of Belarus Andrei Shved told to reporters on the eve of the 32nd meeting of the Coordination Council of Prosecutors General of CIS Member States. Andrei Shved also note that the patronage and use of Nazi ideology has become an element of state policy in some countries. But at the same time the people of these countries help Belarus to investigate the criminal case about the genocide of people during the Great Patriotic War, they want to know the truth, how their ancestors died and at whose hands.

Crimes without time limitation

Belarus and Russia signed an agreement on the creation of a joint group to investigate the case of genocide. Our Russian colleagues are also interested in the information which the Belarusian side receives. This includes interrogations of living witnesses and inspection of mass extermination sites. And as the Prosecutor General Andrei Shved said today, they conduct specific examinations at 11 sites, where the remains of dead people and other material evidence were found.
