Thousands of people walk along Independence Avenue during procession "Belarus Remembers"

3 июля 2020
Festive events are taking place all over the country today. People gather in iconic places that symbolize the memory of the great victory and freedom of the nation.

The culmination of the patriotic procession "Belarus Remembers" took place at Victory Square. Thousands of people walked along Independence Avenue. They were joined by President Alexander Lukashenko.

Next to him there were veterans, soldiers-internationalists, heads of state bodies, representatives of culture, sport, media community, students of Minsk Cadet School and pioneers, representatives of public organizations, youth, labor collectives and clergy.

The value of peace is more relevant than ever in our time. When various conflicts flare up here and there all over the planet, it is important to remember about peace and independence that the Belarusians have won at a too high price.

Not every nation has such a great victory in its history. It is a cause for pride, grief and memory, a reason to bring flowers to the foot of obelisks built in honor of real heroes. July 3 is our main holiday of freedom and independence.
