Today the book of condolences could be signed in the Iranian embassy in Belarus. It was opened in connection with the sinking of the Iranian tanker off the coast of China. Ordinary citizens and representatives of embassies and departments expressed condolences.

Mostafa Oveisi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran:

"The entire Iranian people are saddened by this terrible event. And any help and condolences that come from friendly countries are always necessary.

The Belarusian people and the government, providing their support in connection with this terrible event, once again showed that they are with us not only during the joyful, but also during the sad events. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko also sent his condolences to the President of Iran and the entire Iranian people. I once again want to thank him and the entire Belarusian people for their solidarity and words of support."

The tanker with 136 thousand tons of oil was sent to the Republic of Korea. On the night of January 7, it collided with another ship and caught fire. As a result, the tanker sank. All 32 crew members on board died.
