This date was established at the initiative of Belarus. Back in 2005 the corresponding proposal was made by the Belarusian President and the decision was taken at the 68th session of the UN General Assembly. The document was supported by more than 50 states. Every year on July 30 the representatives of the world community will be discussing their efforts to combat trafficking in human beings.

Trafficking in human beings is the 3rd most lucrative type of crime after sales of drugs and weapons.
