Gomel celebrates 70th anniversary of liberation from Nazi invaders

Gomel was the first regional center of Belarus to be freed from the Nazis. During the 2 years of occupation, the city lost over 100,000 residents. November 26, 1943 marked the beginning of the defeat of the Nazis strongest defensive lines in the eastern direction.
Today's liberation anniversary will be celebrated on a large scale with the opening of a children's clinic, the Parade of World War II veterans, the historical episode The Road Home demonstrated at the railway station and a gala concert.
