Another destabilization attempt. Kazakhstan was followed by Uzbekistan in six months. Protests have engulfed Karakalpakstan. During the unrest, 18 people were killed, 243 others were injured and more than 500 were detained. Western countries continue to wreak havoc in the post-Soviet space. Our President said, who will be next after Kazakhstan, right after January events, but his words were not heard and even offended someone. The financial-industrial elites of the West, who are now losing their privileged position, are doing everything to keep maximum control over resources and their commanding heights, and therefore they are ready to compromise the interests of any country.
Andrei Savinykh, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the House of Representatives:
The events in Uzbekistan are links in a chain. In fact, if the Russian Federation was provoked to carry out a military operation in Ukraine, then Uzbekistan, and other Central Asian states, may become the next target. Western countries, through various nongovernmental organizations and special services of their own countries, are trying to destabilize the situation in these countries, to blow up the world and sow chaos. It is easier to manage geopolitical processes and achieve their goals in chaos. In fact, we are facing a situation in which the world will be filled with a large number of local conflicts and in which the traditional structures of international organizations and inter-parliamentary cooperation will be destroyed, as we are seeing in the example of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. And the situation will worsen until a new balance of power emerges.
