The reaction to the negative actions of Western countries was discussed in Minsk by the participants of the collegium of the foreign affairs agencies of Belarus and Russia. At the same time, the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry noted with satisfaction the support from Russia after the elections. Sergei Lavrov said he was confident that the situation in Belarus would be stabilized.

Sergei Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister: "Belarus is our ally, strategic partner, Belarusians are our brotherly people. And we, of course, are interested in the situation to be calm and stable and, in our opinion, this will, of course, be facilitated by the constitutional reform initiated by the country's leadership as an important stage of improvement and transformation of the political, economic, legal system, as announced."

V. Makei: Suppress interference in the internal affairs of Belarus together with our partners

The head of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus emphasized the illegality and counterproductiveness of attempts to change the power in Belarus by a revolutionary means. And he gave examples of the policy of double standards and different reactions of Western countries to similar and other states.

Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus: "We cannot regard this step other than an attempt to interfere in the internal affairs of Belarus. Ukraine's accession to Western sanctions against Belarus is another non-independent decision of this country, which demonstrates the inconsistency of its policy. We regard this as a mockery of common sense."
