During the Great Patriotic War, fascists arranged the place of execution and mass graves at Bronnaya Gora. More than 50,000 people were killed here, most of them Jews.
Boris Brukk, chairman of the Brest Jewish religious community Emuna: "In 1944, when the Red Army came there, the fascists decided to hide the traces of their crimes. They brought here several hundred prisoners of war, forced them to dig up the remains of those who were shot in 42 and burn them. There are no witnesses of these terrible crimes, only documents and land remained."
Only 19 Jews of Brest ghetto managed to survive.
