Parliamentarians of Belarus and Russia expanding dialogue

Interparliamentary cooperation with the Russian delegation was discussed today in the Council of the Republic, where the speakers of the Senate of the two countries, Natalia Kochanova and Valentina Matvyienko, first spoke face to face and then joined the delegations. The President of the Council of the Republic assured that Belarusian deputies and senators are open to cooperation with their colleagues in all areas. The head of the upper house of the Russian parliament is convinced that equal cooperation must be expanded. According to Valentina Matviyenko, the responsibility of the current generation of politicians is to preserve everything valuable that binds the brotherly peoples. The common history, namely the theme of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory, will be discussed at the VII Forum of Belarusian and Russian Regions in autumn. It is expected to bring together over 500 participants. Today was the first meeting to prepare for it. Belarusian and Russian business circles will discuss the prospects of cooperation and new joint projects. Cooperation agreements and commercial contracts will be signed. Valentina Matviyenko left an entry in the book of honorary guests, and the discussion about how important it is to preserve and protect historical memory continued in the House of Representatives. Speaker Vladimir Andreichenko invited guests to join parliamentary hearings in early April, which will be dedicated to the Great Victory. And tomorrow the guests plan to visit the memorial complex "Brest Fortress - Hero", where they will meet with veterans.
