The imposition of external decisions on the Belarusian people is unacceptable. The President of Russia announced this today at the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which was held in the format of a video conference. According to Vladimir Putin, the same fully applies to the recent events in Kyrgyzstan and to the unfolding internal political struggle in Moldova.

Vladimir Putin, President of Russia: "Belarus has been affected by external forces, after the presidential elections in the country, Belarusian friends are experiencing unprecedented pressure, resisting sanctions and provocations, the information and propaganda war unleashed against them. We consider it unacceptable that anyone from outside imposes certain decisions on the Belarusian people."

According to Putin, more frequent attempts at direct external interference in the internal affairs of the states participating in the activities of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization are "an open challenge to common security".
