Archpriest Fedor Povny: Belarusians need to understand that the time has come to choose - to be or not to be

"One era is coming to an end, and we are already being imposed from the outside, and we are imposed another way of life.  A life, where there is no place for religion, or morality, or humanity, or simple justice," said Fedor Povny. - Christians need to mobilize spiritually, to seriously engage in self-education, to be prepared to defend your values.

The archpriest believes that Belarusians need to understand that the time has come to choose: to be or not to be. "To be with God or go against God. To be with the Motherland or create a global concentration camp with your own hands, to be with your people or as part of the biomass," he explained.

According to the priest, to understand how to live on, the upcoming Christmas readings will try to properly define the problem and "not only call everything by its name, but also find a way to get out of these serious global problems".

The archpriest noted that for the first time in many years, the Orthodox Church has, one might say, departed from its tradition of devoting the Christmas Readings to a topic timed to the anniversary date and historical events of the past, and will pay attention to contemporary global problems. "This does not mean that the church is moving away from tradition. It is simply that we are currently living in history itself, when every nation and even every person, not only in our country, not only around us, but on the entire planet Earth, is creating its future," he said.
