By Alexander Kamovich: The joint command of the regional grouping of the troops of Belarus and Russia verified the extent to which troops are able to counter an attack of illegal military formations and sabotage groups. Within two days of the exercise, the commanders adjusted the plan for building up the situation and drawing up combat operations. The main events of Friday took place at 5 trainign grounds, as well as in Glubokoye District and the site Dretun.
At the Losvido training ground in Vitebsk Region, soldiers worked out the issues of detection of sabotage groups and conducted training on the investigation of radiochemical danger.
Among the tasks facing the Special Forces is detection of illegal armed formations and isolation of areas with a conventional enemy. The ground forces are also supported by aviation.
The joint exercise is taking place in the territory of both Belarus and Russia, but the main maneuvers are deployed in six areas of Belarus. This is the first stage of the exercise where assault forces and intelligence units continue to search for subversive groups of the conventional enemy and various Illegal formations.
