The sowing season progress, equipment and staff readiness, sales on foreign markets, problems and priorities of agriculture were discussed in detail at a major meeting at the Palace of Independence.

The year 2020 was a test of the system of international economic relations. The so-called dictatorship and order, for which we are constantly blamed, have finally shown their effectiveness. What do we have? At a time when the world is in a state of panic and food shortage, Belarus is not only strengthening its agro-industrial complex, but also taking up new niches. It got plus 12 countries in the geography of sales. The exports of agricultural products and foodstuffs last year amounted to nearly $6 billion (that's plus 4%).

This year the growth continues. However, the participants also talked about the problems: profitability, land reclamation, empty houses and old farm buildings, reclamation, i.e. setting up production and bringing back to life considerable land resources.

The focus is aso on livestock farming approaches and careful use of machinery. Discipline and organisation of the process are paramount. The sowing campaign has not gone unnoticed. The main work needs to be completed by May 9.
