Videoconferences on Sustainable Development Goals

Regional development should be a priority in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in Belarus. Its main drivers will be specialization, initiative and cooperation. This was announced today by Deputy Speaker of the Upper House Anatoly Isachenko during a video conference with the UN Resident Coordinator in Belarus, Joanna Kazana-Wisniowiecki.  The parties analyzed the work already done and outlined the prospects for the coming year.

Anatoly Isachenko, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus: “In Belarus, a mechanism for managing sustainable development goals has been created and is operating effectively. I would like to note that out of 162 countries, in  the global goals index our country occupies the 23rd place. It says a lot, it says that the mechanism works, our partner groups work, the parliamentary groups work."

It should be noted that the National Strategy for Sustainable Development of Belarus until 2035 is now being finalized taking into account the situation with COVID 19 pandemic.
