Today, the President took part in the opening ceremony of a new outpatient clinic in Gomel. Today, many people gathered outside the building to assess an important social facility, and, of course, to talk to the Head of State.

Vladimir Karanik, Minister of Health of Belarus: "This is a new standard in the outpatient treatment. 8 floors and 15 thousand square meters of high technology, 7 clinical and 4 diagnostic units, electronic registration. At every step there is easy navigation telling you where to find this or that office. The facility will also be convenient for people with disabilities: in particular, to people with visual problems and wheelchair users."

The President of the country also came to the opening of the landmark facility. Alexander Lukashenko examined the possibilities of the outpatient clinic and talked to the staff.

Information technology has been tightly implemented in a wide variety of departments. The equipment is quite rare.  The laboratories of the new outpatient clinic allow to conduct about a thousand studies in different areas.  Such a unique high-tech and equipped diagnostic center on the basis of the Gomel City Central Outpatient Clinic has been organized and started its operation in the Republic of Belarus for the first time.

The ultimate goal is to equip all central district clinics of Belarus with CT scanners. A dozen of CT machines have recently been delivered to Minsk. Due to modernization the health care system was able to cope with the spring wave of coronavirus.

The most important thing is that the newest equipment can be used not only by residents of this area, but also by residents of other districts of Gomel Region. Well, the locals were really looking forward to the grand opening of the complex. Towards the middle of the day, hundreds of people gathered at the clinic. The city needs this facility.

During the peak coronavirus period, it was people in white coats who were on the front line and successfully coped with their task. This was mentioned by the Head of State.

Important political issues were also discussed. Now the main electoral campaign is in full swing, which traditionally takes place against the background of serious information pressure.

Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus: "Saving the country is a very dangerous moment, we can't lose what you and I created. You can't! This is the main thing," the head of state stressed. "We must preserve this piece of land and not give it to anyone. There is no fear, there is no disaster, but they must know that we will always be sovereign and independent and live on this land with our children."

It is worth remembering once again what a great effort it took for the sovereign Belarus to build its state. Each of the post-Soviet republics has gone its own way, and Belarusians see all the pros and cons of the neighboring courses.

The topics of construction of playgrounds for children and sports in the yards, development of road infrastructure were raised. Alexander Lukashenko promised to support the proposed projects.
