President congratulates BNTU on its 100th anniversary

The Belarusian National Technical University celebrates its 100th anniversary today. The head of state has arrived to congratulate the university on its anniversary.

Alexander Lukashenko took part in a solemn meeting of the labor collective. This event is a tribute to those who created this university and glorified it with their deeds. BNTU is considered vital in training engineering personnel from mechanical to space engineering. 17 500 people study here. Students from all over the world come for knowledge. Over the century, BNTU has trained more than 200 000 specialists.

The head of state presented the Order of Labor Glory to the Belarusian National Technical University as acknowledgment of the merits of the entire team. These people support the image of the university at the highest level. Thanks to their efforts, engineering, and technical education are developing, the elite of scientific personnel is being trained. University staff was presented state awards from the President.

The President knows personally many of them for projects that have been implemented in the country. For example, the head of state together with the current dean of the Faculty of Architecture laid the "zero kilometer".

Armen Sardarov, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture of BNTU: "I was honored to take part in creating zero kilometer, a symbol of the independence of our country. This proposes an important concept of unity. It is important to address the youth of our geodians. Belarus must be united, always stay together. We try to convey here not only knowledge but citizen awareness that you are responsible for your country."
