15 июня 2022
Khatyn, a symbol of our pain and memory of the innocent lives, was extinguished in the 1940s. and the Khatyn objects have acquired the status of the All-Belarusian Youth Construction Team. The student construction squad has already started the work. By the way, boys and girls from 14 to 31 years old, including those in the student squads, can join the important work.

The initiative of young people to touch the history was supported by the President. Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No 176 on granting the Khatyn sites the status of the All-Belarusian youth construction site. Young people aged 14 to 31, including those in student brigades, preserve the historical truth and memory here. The first construction team has already started, consisting of 10 people. The best students were chosen.

Nadezhda Shakhovskaya, commander of the Republican Headquarters of Student Detachments:

“The works at the All-Belarusian construction site will be organized in stages, there will also be volunteer visits here for the weekend. We plan to come and give guys the opportunity to work. One of the flagships of the student squadron movement is the Belarusian National Technical University. They once started developing this movement.”

The scope of work has already been determined. They start with the reconstruction of the Cemetery of the Villages memorial. Now the guys there are engaged in dismantling. As a whole it is planned to update

Student squads will be involved at all sites. This is a kind of tribute to those who died at the hands of Nazi punishers. And today, when the situation is heated to the limit, it is especially valuable.

By the way, the head of state worked here, on the republican subbotnik. The choice of the place was beyond competition, especially in the Year of Historical Memory. Next year the Khatyn tragedy will be 80 years old. By the anniversary plans are grandiose: major repairs, reconstruction and construction of a new museum.

Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus:

“Start the museum immediately, simplify it to the point of no return. The main thing is the exposition that will be there, so that people will come here before they set foot on it, so that their hearts will tear up.

The new museum will have six exhibition halls, where each will be dedicated to a certain period in the history of the Belarusian people.  For example, in the hall "The Tree of History" you can learn about the millennial formation and development of the Belarusian land. The task is not just to preserve the historical memory, but to do everything so that everyone, especially the young people, could understand and appreciate our ancestors' contribution to today's peaceful life.

The next squad will join the All-Belarusian Youth Construction in the coming days.
