Today is the second day of the All-Belarus People's Assembly. You could watch the discussions in the Palace of the Republic both live and on our news channel, as well as hear the opinions on the country's development of the delegates of the large-scale meeting in Minsk.
As the Belarusian leader said while summing it up, this large-scale national forum has shown the high demand of the society for the preservation of the system of values and priorities.
The head of the state expressed his gratitude to everybody who had taken part in the discussion of the issues, crucial for the country. The key reports have already been cited in the media, and not only in Belarus. By the way, those who have not had a chance to speak out will also have such an opportunity. The President emphasized that not a single opinion, proposal or initiative should be ignored.
A resolution on the main aspects of the country's development for the next five years, as well as the address of the participants of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly to their compatriots have been adopted today.
The day started with reports on the key aspects of the country's development. Speakers voiced specific proposals. For example, the Prime Minister outlined the vectors of economic growth and announced Belarus' plans to develop five new high-tech industries. The first one is the electric industry; it will focus on passenger and cargo transport.
In five years almost all urban transport will be electric. The second area is biotechnologies. The major project in the industry is the Biotechnology Corporation. Then come the development of pharmaceuticals and the production of drugs, which are in dire need. The fourth industry is robotics, for example, for working in quarries. And the fifth sphere is a new page in the industry: it is the production of the latest composite materials, which will significantly reduce the imports of metal. The strategy also includes the maximum use of our own raw materials and deep processing to make a product with high added value. In science, the focus will be on the development of 13 clusters in promising industries to produce new products in high demand at the market.
The Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions announced a number of initiatives, particularly to improve the pension system and pricing, and spoke out against the Western sanctions in respect of our country. The Federation intends to actively defend the rights of Belarusians who earn their living by their labor.
Many proposals were voiced by the very people of labor, who understand that salaries, prosperity of people, the image of the state and the growth of exports depend on everyone's work. The speeches were so vivid and emotional that the audience burst into applause.
Speakers from various parts of Belarus spoke from the rostrum about the development of small towns and the need to amend the Constitution. They discussed the role of political parties and the redistribution of powers, as well as the preservation of historical memory and the unity of the nation, where youth policy plays an important role. The discussion turned to be extensive and longer than the regulations, therefore it was decided: to place a number of reports, which didn't have time to speak, in mass media. There was also an interesting informal moment: military commissar colonel Andrey Krivonosov took an opportunity and received a personal charge of energy from the Head of the state.
All opinions will be taken into account for taking specific steps for the country's development. Proposals and initiatives will be carefully analyzed, said the President.
Speaking about possible changes, the President noted that the national interests should be taken into account. The preservation of sovereignty and independence must be achieved without a battle and without bloodshed. As for the Constitution, a referendum can be combined with local elections.
