Exactly 65 years ago, on January 1, 1956, the first broadcast on Belarusian TV took place. It was broadcast from a tiny studio in Minsk, covered with carpets for soundproofing. The media holding has passed a historical way from the film era to digital technologies. Today, the Belarusian State TV and Radio Company has 7 TV channels and 12 radio stations.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the staff of the National State TV and Radio Company on the 65th anniversary of the Belarusian television. The head of state noted that the bright and long history of the company is a chronicle of the country.

"Having started from a modest Minsk studio, you have grown into an influential holding, the team of which is always at the forefront of information. Thanks to your work, millions of Belarusian and foreign viewers receive reliable and unbiased information about the key events in the life of Belarus," the greeting message reads.

The President wished the staff and veterans of Belarusian television strong health, wellbeing and creative victories.
