President of Belarus signs decree tightening anti-smoking laws

Measures to combat smoking are being strengthened in Belarus. Today, the President signed a decree toughening anti-tobacco laws.

In particular, the open display of liquids for electronic smoking systems is now prohibited. The places of sale and use of electronic systems have been limited. It is not allowed to sell liquids for them to minors. The decree expands the list of places where smoking is completely prohibited. Now it includes auxiliary premises of residential buildings, playgrounds, territories of sports and recreation camps, educational institutions, bus stops and underground passages.

Starting from the new year, sales of tobacco products and electronic smoking systems will be allowed in large stores (with an area of ​​over a thousand square meters) only through product departments. From 2022, it will be completely forbidden to sell tobacco in stores above cash registers.
