Prime Minister of Belarus: Our task is to prevent the revision of the Great Patriotic War results

6 мая 2022
These days, the Great Victory celebrations are filled with words of gratitude, loyalty and duty. Not a single hero of that war, not a single place of battles and sorrow is forgotten by our generation.

"Victory in the Great Patriotic War is a national treasure of Belarus, a source of vitality of our people, their patriotism and selflessness". This was stated today by Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko at the solemn meeting and concert of the masters of arts in Victory Park. TV channel Belarus 1 will broadcast it in the evening. Veterans of the Great Patriotic War, representatives of the state and labor collectives gathered in the hall, as well as those, who today protect the peaceful life in Belarus and work for its development.

Today, Belarus is developing in difficult social and economic conditions caused by sanctions. But thanks to the diligence of the people, their faith in their own strength and the ability not to retreat in the face of difficulties, our country will emerge victorious and stronger again. Today, Victory Day is no longer just a solemn and memorable date. It is a new historic frontier of defense and defense of the independence of Belarus.

For us, the Victory in the Great Patriotic War is both the sorrow and the national and military pride. The Nazis created over 260 death camps. The occupiers carried out over 140 major punitive operations on the occupied territory. More than a million 300,000 Belarusians selflessly fought in the Red Army. For their courage and heroism 449 of our compatriots were awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union, and 4 heroes were given this high title twice.
