Representatives of foreign private military company detained in Belarus

According to information from law enforcers, more than two hundred militants arrived in our country to de-stabilize the situation during the election campaign. A group of 32 people was detained near Minsk, one more was captured in the south of the country.

These are citizens of Russia, members of a private military company Wagner, known for its involvement in conflicts in Syria, Ukraine and other countries. They're all tough guys between aged  from 24 to 49. The militants were detained tonight by Group A, KGB and police department of Minsk City Executive Committee. The Investigative Committee conducts an investigation.

A private military company is a commercial enterprise offering specialized services related to guarding, protecting (defending) someone and something, often involving participation in military conflicts, as well as gathering intelligence information.

Their arsenal includes serious training and extensive experience in combat operations. They are called "Dogs of War", soldiers of luck, and they have already been observed in almost all armed conflicts in the Balkans, the Middle East, South America and Africa, not to mention the post-Soviet republics, which have experienced the pressure from outside and the bloody technologies of revolutions.

On July 25, at 3 a.m., a group of 32 people settled at I.B.B. hotel in the capital. Visitors behaved  in a quiet and disciplined way. Even in messengers, everything is clear and point by point.

A day later these people left the hotel and moved to a health resort near Minsk. According to the administration of the resort, visitors have demonstrated the behavior unusual for Russian tourists and uniform clothes in the military style. They didn't drink alcohol, didn't visit any entertainment establishments, kept separate, trying not to attract attention to themselves. But the Belarusian law enforcement officers had already found out what kind of "tourists" they were.

According to the detention footage, people reacted to everything calmly, you can even say professionally. There was no resistance, as experience shows what happens when the forces are unequal.

The detainees were soldiers of the Russian private military company Wagner. Wagner is an informal armed formation. It has been operating in Ukraine and then Syria since 2014.

Over time, PMC Wagner has strengthened and operated on many different continents. The fighters were seen in both Africa and South America. Literally today, Libya recognized this PMC as a threat to the integrity of the country. But technically, there is no such battalion. You can't find such a unit in the law enforcement agencies or the register of legal entities. Soldiers are also not on the personnel lists. And Russia itself has no law on private military companies.

What were they doing in Belarus? Why did two hundred militants (and there is such information) come to our country? Obviously, the law enforcement will answer that question.
