Local businessman installed a memorial cross, a chapel and a bell in memory of Kazimirovka village, which was burned down during the war. Mikhail Yevzhik was born in Mozyr District in the post-war years and learned about the Great Patriotic War from the stories of his relatives. In memory of his grandmother, whom he had never seen, and all the innocent victims, Mikhail initiated a memorial site. 10 of his relatives died in the fire at once. A total of 127 people were burned. The tragedy happened on March 22, 1943, on the same day as Khatyn massacre.
On the whole, over 9 thousand villages were burned down in Belarus during the war.
