Improving information policy and not letting people be misinformed. It is necessary to counteract the streams of fakes and outright lies in the modern media field.
It is no coincidence that this topic was discussed by the President today. A successful information confrontation will reduce the risks to national security. There is an increased demand for reliable information in society. Proposals have been prepared to help improve information policy in the current reality. The President urged not to be ashamed of propaganda, because we agitate for the best. It is also necessary to step up counter-propaganda, because the information pressure of the hybrid warfare will not weaken.
Belarus is constantly exposed to ideological, informational, military and psychological threats
Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus: You know that the challenges we face today are absolutely not a new story. We have been building our state for almost a third of a century, and we are constantly exposed to ideological, informational, military and psychological threats. We are actually under this pressure from the collective West - Washington and its allies. The intentions are known: to destabilize society, change the constitutional order, bring the right people to power, obedient to the West. The level of technology thrown at the implementation of these goals is very high.
Hybrid War Fakes
All fakes are good in a hybrid war. This is the logic that guides the overseas organizers. We all remember how during the protests of 2020 the emotions of the Belarusians were actively manipulated from abroad. A new wave of lies spread after the start of the special operation in Ukraine. The Ministry of Information had to seriously refute the fake by extremist sources about the ban of Orwell in Belarus.
Lukashenko: Politics in the West was turned into a show long time ago
"One should understand that people who follow the news are not always able to separate truth from lies. When you are not an actual participant of events and receive a huge amount of information in the form of lies and fakes, it is really difficult to separate the truth from lies. In the West, politics in principle was turned into a staged movie, a show long time ago. People were accustomed to this format of presenting information, so the truth sometimes is not interesting. Fake, show is more interesting. Because it is beautifully staged," said the President.
The head of state stated that reality is sometimes boring and not as bright as lies and fakes. "And this is the main problem. As a result, we see: even primitively fabricated stories are taken for granted by people."
