Orthodox believers celebrate Christmas

12 января 2020
The Orthodox believers celebrated a real family holiday this week. Christmas is one of the main holidays on the Christian calendar. The celebration of the Savior's coming into the world is filled with deep spiritual meaning. The main thing is to greet this day with bright thoughts and open hearts. By tradition, the celebrations began on January 6, when all the Belarusian churches held all-night divine services. On the morning of January 7, the festive liturgies continued.

Alexander Lukashenko lit a Christmas candle at the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God, one of the parishes of the St. Elizabeth Monastery. Pilgrims from all over Belarus are going to the monastery on the outskirts of Minsk. This place has been a symbol of faith, love, and support for many years.

Christmas is one of the most important Christian holidays. It is a time of great renewal of the world and universal joy. The President wished everyone good health and promised to return to St. Elizabeth Monastery in the near future. And he assured: the state is ready to support the charitable work being done here.
