Today is the last day of the Nativity Fast. Believers go to church and ask for their sins to be forgiven, lighting candles for the health and well-being of their loved ones. Tonight's dinner is special, with kutia as the main dish. The festive meal also includes pancakes, nuts, berries and kissel. The menu is not rich as the last day of the fast is the strictest.
Religious services will be held at all Minsk churches throughout the day. The All-night Vigil will begin at 6 p.m. at the Holy Spirit Cathedral. The service will be broadcast on Belarus 1 and Belarus 24 TV channels at 21:40. The first liturgy to be held by Metropolitan Pavel of Minsk and Slutsk will begin at midnight, bringing together Orthodox Christians to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
