After the recommendation of the State Control Committee, the pharmacy networks have re-evaluated the cost of drugs in connection with the strengthening of the Belarusian ruble. Now the prices have decreased by 30%. The State Control Committee warns: harsh measures will be applied to all those who decided to take advantage of customers.

Yulia Avhukova, head of the main department of the State Control Committee:

The legislation allows importers to re-evaluate the cost of medicines when the exchange rate changes. As a rule, this legislation only benefits the importer, when the exchange rate goes up, the cost of the drugs goes up. The Committee has monitored six major pharmacy wholesalers. And it has been suggested to re-evaluate prices as of May 1, but in the direction of reducing the cost of drugs due to changes in exchange rates. All of them have responded quite promptly.

For example, one of the enterprises had a revaluation of 365 drugs items. The cost has decreased to 28%. The total amount came out to almost one million Belarusian rubles. Such figures are, of course, significant for the buyer.

However, there is no shortage of drugs, either. As for the assortment, the pharmacy says that they have not encountered any complaints from customers. Today, there are a large number of analogues on the market. And even in conditions of sanctions, issues with supplies are resolved promptly.

Employees of the State Control Committee of Brest Region during a random check of one of the major suppliers of medicines in the domestic market, there was a price increase for a number of items. Now there are no problems, they have been settled. The requirement of the state control has been met, the prices for 247 items have been reduced.

The State Control Committee stresses that the legislation should operate in the interests of both the seller and the buyer. In this case, the unscrupulous importers will be subject to stringent measures.
