The legendary stadium Dinamo returns. Today, the opening ceremony will take place at the arena after a very long reconstruction. Six years have passed since the last football match was played on the pitch here. Today, the stadium will host the first football match, and tomorrow a track-and-field competition will take place here.
After the reconstruction, the stadium Dinamo is actually a new arena. Nevertheless, the architects and builders managed to preserve its historical image – the famous arcade on the western platform, as well as the Olympic flame, which now burns outside the main gate.
The stadium now can seat 22,246 spectators. Experts agreed this was the maximum capacity. The main feature of the arena now is the roof above the stands. Builders say that it closes 75-80% of the seats.
The tribunes do not look boring either. The seats are painted in different colors and installed in a chaotic order. This creates the effect of presence.
Tonight the best football players of the country will play on the pitch after the solemn opening ceremony. The clubs Dinamo Minsk and Dynamo Brest will play against players from the rest of the Belarusian clubs.
