Keep the memory of the fallen heroes. The memorial complex "Partisanskaya Krynichka" was opened near Gomel after a large-scale reconstruction. In 1941 the first camp of the legendary detachment "Bolshevik" was located here. The camp was surrounded by dense forests, and there was a spring with clean water in its territory. That's how the place got its name. Back in the Soviet years, a memorial in honor of the Gomel partisans was built there. Now Krynichka is a full-fledged military-historical complex. The atmosphere of the partisan camp has been recreated, the monument has been renewed, and there is a platform for reconstructors to perform.

Konstantin Mishchenko, Deputy Director of the Gomel Regional Museum of Military Glory:

At that time we had the Gomel and Polesie regions and in total we had no less than 50,000 partisans involved in the partisan movement, who were united in 29 brigades. The contribution is significant. Gomel partisans  alone destroyed about 1400 trains, 45 thousand rails were dismantled, 189 tanks were destroyed.

The "Partisan Krynichka" became a truly national project. The whole region took part in fundraising for the reconstruction, as well as the improvement of the site. The memorial is open to tourists. Patriotic and cadet classes will be held there.
