Why friends are OK when they don't get in the way for Western democracies? Watch the author's program "Platform"

The Western powers, loudly and ostentatiously sympathetic to Ukraine, do not mind taking advantage of the situation and to participate in the sale of Ukrainian resources on the sly. Previously, we have talked about the illegal trade in human organs going to the West and about the "live commodity" that some traffickers see in Ukrainian refugee women and children. However, against the background of the worsening food situation in the world, no less desirable is the main natural resource of the former breadbasket of the Soviet Union - its grain. This is what our author's program "The Platform" is about.

Let us speculate whether there is a rational kernel in the policy of the collective West toward Ukraine and how it is related to the Ukrainian grain.

In early June, Ukraine accused Turkey of buying grain allegedly stolen from it by Russia. Reuters, which reported the news, could not verify the accusations made by the Ukrainian side.  The UN experts did not confirm the theft of grain either. But did anyone care about that? The topic was immediately picked up by extremist telegram channels, and it's escalated from there.

At the same time "prosecutors" stubbornly fail to notice that even before the beginning of active hostilities a record volume of grain was taken out of Ukraine (and not by Russia!). According to data from the Ukrainian ports, from February 11 to 14, 10 days before the special operation, the shipment of grain from sea terminals hit a record of 867,000 tons.

There's more. At the beginning of July, it was revealed that the Mangelbert OU company from the EU member state Estonia may be involved in the theft of Ukrainian grain. Baltic Media reported that a contract for the sale of grain was signed between this company and Turkey. At the same time, the Estonian firm assured the partner of the legality of the transaction.

By the way, I wrote about funny Estonian grain frauds in the Belarusian press 18 years ago. Then, in March 2004, Estonia was rocked by a sensation: one-third of the country's strategic grain reserves disappeared from the largest granary near the town of Rakvere. It turned out that shrewd businessmen had dumped the nation's pantry into distilleries and breweries, and the gaping emptiness of the grain elevators was disguised by a false bottom with an intermediate cover, lightly powdered with grain.

But Ukrainians should have learned long ago, even from experience in their own history: the countries and organizations that stand for human rights and freedoms are usually thieves.

- What do you think I am, a highwayman? I'm an ideological robber chief, and all my guys, as one, stand for a free person.

- So they're going to rob!

The UN now predicts that 90% of people in Ukraine will fall below the poverty line if the current situation persists. In fact, everything is worse: to poverty we can safely add the threat of famine throughout the country because of the stolen State Reserve.

But the Belarusian President has repeatedly proposed a civilized way of solving this issue.

Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus:

Putin and I agreed, it was my suggestion: "Why are we listening to this and making excuses, let's give them the routes." He recently talked in an interview about the Belarusian direction and so on. We have a hard bargain - you're welcome. The only thing I told him was: "Look, Mariupol has been liberated, Berdyansk has been liberated, as well as good ports on the Azov. And I say - offer this. And the Russians offered. There are already seven destinations for grain exports - take it out. It's been over a month - no one is exporting anything.

However, Ukraine once again ignores another gesture of goodwill on our part. Moreover: the other day it began to mine the border with Belarus. However, the main mine, the food one, was planted by Ukraine under itself long ago. And it continues to dance on it frantically, depriving its citizens of both rational kernel and daily bread.
