All vaccines registered in Belarus have proven their effectiveness. According to Health Minister Dmitry Pinevich, during the worst period of the pandemic those who had been vaccinated, never got to the intensive care unit. There is a new wave of CoVID-19 ahead. It is expected in September. As the head of the department says, our health care system is fully prepared. But still it's better to protect your body with immunization. Our country has all conditions for that.
Dmitri Pinevich, Minister of Health of Belarus:
It is very likely that the main part of the disease will be caused by the omicron strain. It is much more easily transmitted. Nevertheless, I recommend those who have not yet been vaccinated to do so. We plan to ramp up the booster vaccination rate. I believe that with the vaccination rates that we have achieved by this time, we do not expect any catastrophic consequences.
As for premiums for health workers, the Ministry of Health is keeping the issue under control. Let me remind you that due to the stabilization of the situation with coronavirus and the transition of clinics and hospitals to normal operation, the so-called "Covid allowances" for health workers have been canceled. However, at the same time, the presidential decree introduced new incentive payments, their amount depending on the complexity and intensity of the specialist's work. The Ministry of Health checks that all allowances were paid. In addition, there is a condition that all the planned allowances that existed before must be retained.
