Pedestrian traffic at the border of the European Union stops.

Vladimir Korolev: Pedestrian traffic at the check points with Poland, Lithuania and Latvia was stopped. It was made to cut vehicle lines. During this time all necessary infrastructure for passengers was created.


Almost all border check points with the EU are not equipped for pedestrian traffic. They lack elementary security measures.


Alexander Kolobov, aid of the head of Smorgon Frontier Group: We lack the necessary infrastructure for safe crossing of citizen. The rush hours of passenger traffic usually occur on weekends.


Alexander Tishchenko, spokesman of the State Frontier Committee of Belarus: Both pedestrian and drivers have claims to each other.


The rules for drivers remain the same.


Alexander Kolobov, aid of the head of Smorgon Frontier Group: 562,000 persons crossed the border in Kamenny Log during the 9 months of 2014. After all security measures are adopted, the pedestrian traffic will be resumed.
