The official ceremony of reburying the remains of Soviet soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War, which took place in Slavgorod, was attended by veterans, representatives of law enforcement agencies, district authorities and guests from Russia. The remains of 8 soldiers were buried in a mass grave following a search operation carried out by search teams, including from the Nizhny Novgorod region.

28 soldiers whose remains were found in the Chausy district were commemorated with a minute of silence and peaceful salutes. Special gratitude was expressed to the 52nd separate specialised search battalion that has helped identify more than 2,500 Soviet soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War and discover over 23,000 burial sites.
